BIOGRAPHY

Born in Winchester Ontario, Allen began his hockey career in Cornwall Ontario. From 1951 to 1953 Allen played Jr. A, and O.H.A. Hockey with the St. Catharines Teepees . Afterwards he played O.H.A. hockey with Niagara Falls and Stamford teams. In 1976 Allen formed the Jordan Old Timers Hockey League, and has played within it ever since. For four years Allen also coached the Brock University Badgers Team, and refereed hockey in O.H.A., Jr. A, and Sr. A in the Erie Pennsylvania area. Not limited to just hockey, Allen also coached an played softball and baseball, as well as umpiring both for thirty years, as well as four Canadian championships. Playing in the Ontario Rugby Football Union, for Jr. and Sr. Lacrosse , as well as being a past president of the Twenty Valley Golf Club Allen was active in a number of sports. Presently Allen is the Games Captain at the St. Catharines Golf and Country Club, and 1981 to date he has chaired the Walt McCollum Niagara District Champion of Champions Golf Tournament. A member of the Old Timers Hockey Hall of Fame, and named St. Catharines Sportsman of the Year in 1988, in addition to his induction to the St. Catharines Sports Hall of Fame, Allen has contributed a great deal to a number of sports.
