Ashton Morrison was a teacher for Alexandra School in 1924. Morrison had influence on more young people in St. Catharines than any other teacher of his era. He later advanced to become Principal for Victoria School, and Prince of Wales School. He coached all sports, school and city teams. He was the president of Ontario Bantam & Midget hockey League—which later amalgamated with the Ontario Minor Hockey Association, the largest minor hockey group in the world. Morrison was the President of Ontario Minor Hockey Association and was awarded Ontario Hockey Association’s “gold stick” – O.H.A.’s highest award. Unfortunately, Morrison is no longer with us today as he passed away on October 23, 1976.
