Jack Nicholson started his rowing career at St. Catharines Collegiate in 1948, followed by stints as a boat builder, coach, club captain and organizer. He has coached at many schools and universities, and helped start programs at several of them, including Sir Winston Churchill and Niagara District High Schools, and Ryerson, Waterloo and Brock Universities. Originally coaching eights and fours, he has focused on working with scullers for the last 40+ years, taking rowers to the Olympics, Pan Am Games and Henley Royal regattas since 1970. Coaching at Ridley College and Ridley Graduate Boat Club since 1972, Jack has had continual success and has a high reputation within Niagara, Ontario, Canada and international rowing world.
