BIOGRAPHY

James McNulty was able to contribute to sports through his coaching through the school he taught at. Education from the University of Toronto, being recognized an outstanding athlete while in school himself , for playing a variety of sports including, football, swimming, water polo, and basketball, while going through school to become a teacher. Working at the St. Catharines Collegiate Physical Education Director, James was able to bring the school team to the SOSSA and Red Feather Championships in 1949, as well as the Canadian Junior Championships in 1952. While coaching James had a 85% victory rate. In addition to teaching and coaching, James was also involved in politics, serving as the Grantham Ward Councilor from 1957-58, Deputy Reeve in 1959, Lincoln County Council Member in 1959, St. Catharines Alderman 1960-62, and as the M.P. of Lincoln Riding 1962-1965.
