Le Roy Pickard was on basketball, and baseball teams, not only as a player, but also contributing his time and efforts to assisting with them. As a basketball player for the Church and Legion, as well as the Captain of the Ontario Jr. Baseball Champions in 1941. Secretary, Treasurer and President of the St. Catharines and Ontario Softball Associations (O.A.S.A.), Le Roy held a number of important positions over the years, and became a Life member of the O.A.S.A. He also served as Vice–President of the Canadian Amateur Softball Association, and Secretary of the Ontario Church Basketball Association, he was also the Treasurer of the Legion Branch 24 and served as Secretary/Treasurer of the Legion Br. 24 Minor Hockey Program, Secretary of the Legion Alumni for 30+ years, and Secretary of the Ten Pin Bowling Male Retirees League (the largest in Canada).  Le Roy kept busy with assisting in a variety of sports over the years.
