A secretary at Holy Cross High School, Marianne was able to play a key role in the registration of over 700 players into St. Catharines softball in all age groups. Marianne not only played a key role in promoting softball to others, but was also a softball shortstop herself. She played as a shortstop for Morgan’s Mens Wear, and played with McKinnon Merry Macs. In 1956 Marianne retired as a player of the game, but continued to provide assistance to the St. Catharines Ladies Softball Association. In 1954 Marianne was the secretary of the St. Catharines Ladies Softball Association, and over her 33 years with the Ontario Softball Association she was in all offices except the President position.
