BIOGRAPHY

  • 1977-2000– Won 8 Canadian Championships; 1st Championships at the age of 14
  • 1977-1985– Won 14 Provincial Championships, both Ontario and Quebec, singles and doubles
  • 1980-81-82– Ranked #2 by Ontario Tennis Association
  • 1982-1983—Played in 5 United States Tennis Association Championships, World ranking #217
  • 1984– Represented Canada in Rio de Janeiro Federation Cup S.A.O Brazil, Summer Olympics. This tournament won by Steffi Graff.
  • 1985– Represented Canada at Swiss Open, French Open, Wimbledon, Canadian Open
  • Her full career was coached by Pierre Lamarche (Davis Cup Coach). Marianne had no sponsors. Her family and
    friends financed all her expenses. She graduated from Brock University and at present teaches school in Toronto
    and still enjoys playing tennis.
