Starting his racing career from the early age of 12 – first racing go karts and progressing to racing stock cars, as well as building his first race car in shop class at West Park Secondary School in St. Catharines, Peter has always been involved with cars. Owner of Bicknell Racing Products, with manufacturing headquarters in St. Catharines, and facilities in the United States, where they build cars and sell racing parts across these two countries, he has built a successful company. Not only an accomplished business owner, Peter has also been a stock car racer for over 25 years, winning over 400 feature races over his career, as well as being the winner of 26 Modified Division Area Track Championships, 11 of which were at Merrittville Speedway, which is he now owns and operates with the help of his daughter and wife. Of Peter’s many wins, 12 were in one year with Davey Moore. Over the years Peter has also helped to change the sport of racing, helping to get women in the pits, advocating for younger kids to be able to race, and promoting the sport. Peter Bicknell has been given awards for Driver of the Decade in 1980, Driver of the Year in 1984, named St. Catharines Sportsman of the Year in 1984, as well as being induct-ed into the Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame in 2002.
