BIOGRAPHY

Peter Cameron, former Captain of the St. Catharines Celtics, was extremely diverse in his interest in sports.  He was a 3 time Niagara District Scoring Champion, and played in the Ontario Junior Championship for Fastball.  For 16 years he was a player and then a coach for the Thompson Products Chiefs.  He won All Star playing 3 different positions— Catcher, 1st Base, and 3rd Base. Cameron was the only person to win MVP, Coach of the Year and Mr. Fastball. 

Cameron’s ture passion was as a horseman.  He was a trainer and exhibitor of horse shows for 20 years.  He is also very well known as a judge. He judged a record 885 horse shows over a period of 46 years! He judged six major breeds of or horse, Quarter Horse, Paint, Appaloosa, Arabian, Morgan and Thoroughbread.   He would judge an average of 250 horse shows per year.  Cameron received the worlds “Arabian Horse Judge of the Year” award in 1991 and 1992 (which were the only years this award was given).  He was the first person named to the Arabian Horse Association Hall of Fame in 2005.
