BIOGRAPHY

Rex Stimers was a Sportscaster for CKTB Radio station.  Stimers was a partisan to St. Catharines athletes and teams and also served on City Council.  Stimers was the first to use Ghost Broadcasts and the first Sportscaster of 5 Pin Bowling and Wrestling.  He broadcasted Jr. A. Memorial Cup Hockey from 1954-1960 and was a Sportscaster of many sports including: Softball, baseball, basketball, and the Royal Canadian Henley Regatta. He was elected to Builder’s Division of the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 1971. Unfortunately, Rex Stimers is no longer with us today as he passed away in 1966 at the age of 66.
